About

Who we are?

As the Wellbeing and Equity Office, we work to make campus life safe, equitable and inclusive for everyone. We prioritize the wellbeing of our community; we listen, support and guide.

Culture & climate

We build the campus climate together.

Campus climate is the shared atmosphere that shapes how safe, equal and welcome everyone feels within an institution. We work to make that climate safer, more equitable and more inclusive for everyone.

What do we do?

We carry out prevention and awareness work, provide individual support and guidance, and nurture an inclusive culture through policies and training.

Who do we report to?

We report directly to the university's senior management; we act as an impartial, trustworthy office, equally close to every member of the community.

How do we work?

With an expert team; guided by confidentiality, voluntariness and empowerment, and without judgment.

Who is it for?

Students and staff — in short, the entire university community. We're here for all of them.

Who we work with

The units we build the campus climate with

Wellbeing and equity are teamwork. We work closely with the units below and guide you to the right place for your needs.

Gender Equality Office

Carries gender equality into every part of campus through policies, training and awareness work; monitors inequalities and works to improve them.

Accessible ÖzÜ

Provides academic accommodations, physical access and support services for our community members with disabilities; makes the campus accessible to everyone.

Intercultural Awareness and Support Office

Eases the adaptation of our community members from different cultures and countries; builds an environment of intercultural dialogue, awareness and solidarity.

Unit for the Prevention of Discrimination and Violence

Receives reports of discrimination, harassment and violence in confidence; listens to the person, informs them and guides them to the right support and units.

Alongside these units, the Wellbeing and Equity Office also works with units such as the Psychological Development Unit (PGB), the Dean of Students and Human Resources to create a 360° support approach on campus.

Unit for the Prevention of Discrimination and Violence

What is it?

An expert unit within the Wellbeing and Equity Office, focused on preventing discrimination, harassment and violence. It carries out preventive work so that no one on campus is exposed to such behavior, and handles incoming reports with care.

What does it do?

It receives reports in confidence; listens to the person without judgment, informs them about their rights and options, and guides them to the right support mechanisms and units. It stays by the person's side throughout the process.

Our principles

This is how we work.

An approach that puts our community member at the center at every step — respectful of confidentiality and empowering.

We don't judge

We welcome everyone as they are, in a safe space.

We respect confidentiality

What's shared is not disclosed without the person's consent.

We empower the person

We leave the decision to the person and talk through the options together.

We act together

We seek solutions in cooperation with the relevant units on campus.
